I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Rabbi Lefkowitz, Mrs. Galitzer and Mrs. Heber. When I think of my years at Hillel, I know I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn with you. Your love of Yiddishkeit and the Jewish people have made a lasting impact on me, and I thank you for this. I am happy for your future students who will have the blessing of learning in your classrooms.

I was in disbelief when I heard about Mrs. Galitzer’s dismissal. As a student of hers multiple times throughout my high school carreer, I feel obliged to comment on my experiences. College-level Jewish history had absolutely no match to Mrs. Galitzer’s Survey of Jewish hsitory and the experimental AP Modern Jewish history she taught. I had not learned a single extra fact that I hadn’t already known from high school. This should not be a testament to Yeshiva University’s quality of education because we were assigned multiple books to read. The thing is, I had read them all! Mrs. Galitzer is one of the top teachers in Hillel and I hope, for the sake of Hillel’s future students, she remains there. I know I’ve told you this many times before, but thank you Mrs. Galitzer.
