Site Statistics

I wanted to provide everyone with an update regarding the reach of this website.

As I mentioned in an earlier message, I did not verbally promote this site and truly didn’t know what would happen when I created it. I told three people (two of whom already graduated), and within hours, the site was already being spoken about everywhere. In the first day alone, the site had over 200 unique visits.

Today, I am happy to report that SaveHillel.com has gone much further than Hillel itself. The site boasts (and this is since I installed an analytics application on Saturday night) 1,541 unique visitors, with 14,222 pageviews.

The heaviest hitters are naturally in South Florida:

  • 385 unique visits came from Miami
  • 251 unique visits came from Hollywood

The statistics show that the entire East Coast seems to be very actively visiting this site.

The reach has extended to other countries: our visitors have come from as far as Madrid, Spain and Kefar Shemaryahu in Israel. We also had a visit from Mexico.

According to another statistics application, the majority (by far) of the visitors to this site are coming from the United States, but a good number are coming from the European Union, followed by Australia, then Israel, then Canada, then Brazil, as well as Japan, Spain, and Mexico.

I hope you continue to tell your family and friends about the site.

To 123: I can understand the frustration you feel since your mother’s name is now on this website. However, this is public knowledge. Your mother’s name was posted along with the names of other parents who are on the Hillel Board.

You and I both know each other personally, and making personal attacks against me, especially since I am simply a liaison in this ordeal, is immature, unwarranted, and goes exactly against the Comment Policy that I posted last night. Furthermore, it unfortunately also supports Alex Bagdadi’s statements about Sinat Chinam. I will not be instrumental in promoting anything that goes against the mission of this site. Unfortunately for the position you are in, the mission of the site is for people to speak to your mother to beg her to reconsider their decisions.

When the board’s names were posted, they were not used to encourage harassment. However, turning it around to harass me will not be tolerated. At the end of the day, I have control over what goes on this site, and none of it will promote any harassment towards me or any other individuals, including the Hillel board. That said, I have posted the names of the Hillel board as a public service to everyone who has visited this site, and I urge you all to approach this matter respectfully. The Board’s names were NOT posted for anyone at Hillel to harass or threaten them. These names were simply posted to allow you to know who you should address when making your plea in support of our teachers.

I hope that this clarifies any confusion you had over me publishing those names — which, again, is public knowledge — last night.

    Thank you.

    who is this kid’s mother?

  • 6 admin // Mar 27, 2007 at 12:18 pm

Ruben, I am not revealing names on this site (he’s signing all these posts as me, rather than as him), but he is posting the alleged harassing messages from his office. I would imagine that doing so goes against his company’s policy.

I must say I thought that it was a child. I am amazed that someone that immature sounding would be working in an office. Admin, keep up the good work.

this sight is silly… there is a lot of hard work that goes into making Hillel a better place. No one is out to get anyone at Hillel especially the mothers and fathers who VOLUNTEER their own time to further help the education of Hillels students. why cant people see this and appriciate it. the decisions that were made were for the benefit of others… GET OVER IT AND MOVE IT…

    Dearest Gus,

When one volunteers to be on aboard of directors, PTA, governing board etc… one takes on a duty to represent the ENTIRE constituency, not merely the ideas of a handful of people. Obviously, a great many people DO NOT appreciate the decisions that the board has made. They never asked me, or you, or ANYONE what we thought benefited OUR school. I don’t need a new administration coming in to tell me what is in MY benefit. I am a grown man. Grown men use their OWN brains to come to decisions based on knowledge and experience. I have been associated with the school longer than this administration, and possibly the board as well. They’re telling me what Hillel needs?

The letter the board sent out is a smack in the face. It explained absolutely nothing. Basically, with that letter, the board is telling everyone that they are too stupid to understand what goes into evaluations so they have chosen not to explain it at all. They have not responded to any of our concerns. If I had a child in Hillel, I would certainly threaten to take him/her out being that it seems like parents no longer have a say in their childrens’ educations over there at the school.

This hard work you speak of…How about they just ask the alumni/students for teacher evaluations? That way, they don’t even have to take the blame if they disagree.

How about you work somewhere for 15+ years, and new managment who DOES NOT HAVE A CLUE fires you….. GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON!

    Ladies and Gentlemen:

This site is wonderful - - it allows for free expression of ideals. It does not condone Lashon Horah - - it provides people with a vehicle to have their voices heard. if you do not agree with this - - redirect your browser and move on. You are not obligated to read or partake in this activity. Afterall, this is a free country with freedom of choice.

Gus — use spell check - - it will help your appearance on the blog.

To the person impersonating the webmaster - - envy is ugly - - - you need to redirect your energies in more productive ways.

To the webmaster/site admin: You have done an excellent job. You have provided a vehicle for people to be heard and in an anonymous fashion as to not jeapardize their children. Congratulations and keep up the good work.

May you go from strength to strength. I encourage others to take a lesson in making yourself heard. Make your opinion count and stand up for what you believe in.

These are the ideals on which our wonderful free democratic society is based. Don’t take your rights for granted - - use them constructively to make this a better place.

Our hope is that our words will not fall on the deaf ears of the board. We pray for a miracle so that our voices may once again be heard.

Happy and Healthy Passover to all!
