Great Teachers are Back — But Be Aware!

April 14th, 2007 · 5 Comments

I received this anonymous email:

Great the teachers are back!

The mission is not completed!

Over the next 3 years the Board & Holden will fire other great people - teachers & staff!

Jewish Federation must be involved !

The “Medieval” secret society called “The Board” - must be replaced!

The fight is still on!!

Quality Jewish Education for the common people not just the cream of the crop!!

Agreed! The fight is on and should be stronger than ever.

There must be a change in leadership and on the board! The problem is that the board is a tight knit group of friends who appoint each other, live in the same social circles, and must give a certain dollar amount to be on the board.

There are many interested, qualified, educated parents whose expertise would be beneficial but are not tapped or chosen due to their lack of financial ability to pay to be on the board or the mere fact that they do not travel in the same social circle and therefore are not welcomed to be on the board.

    Truly a shame.

Traditional Jewish Torah values and education is the very reason we had enrolled our children at this school. Now it is an embarrassment to say where our children go to school.

This in and of itself is awful.

    We must continue to fight!

Together we can make a difference!

I spoken to some of those teachers who still do not have a contract and they are already job hunting.
There are also others leaving for other reasons than contracts.

They are leaving because this is not a healthy environment in which to work. They are more than likely looking for jobs in environments in which they will be respected and appreciated.

    True.
    One must jump, sometimes swiftly.

    It is truly a shame!
